Day 5: No Cinefuegos

Day 5:
Wednesday at breakfast we received an update from the Captain about our schedule. We had indeed been delayed 5 hours and as a result we would not be able to stop in Cinefuegoes. Many at breakfast were visibly disappointed, but the majority of guests understood and resigned the incident as a "bummer," ourselves included.

After breakfast we found ourselves at the adventure desk where the impact guides work. We chatted with Amber about our day in Santiago and upcoming opportunities onboard and in Havana. From there we went up to the shops and chatted with other crew members; there was Simon from London, the luxury watch and fine jewelry salesman, and Andrew from Ireland who was more interested in chatted with guests than selling handbags. Andrew was able to give us a recommendation for dinner while in Havana, a private restaurant at 304 O'Reilly street.

After lunch we taught Robert how to play Rummy and spent several hours playing cards. Then we participated in Pre-Dinner individual trivia, the topic was Cuba. Mom and I did alright with 13 correct out of 21, the winner scored 17. We shared another spectacular dinner with our waitstaff, Baron and Arun. After dinner was team trivia, which was significantly more difficult than we anticipated. The first 10 questions were geographic and historical, the second 10 were science based, and the final 10 were zoomed in images and you have to guess what the larger picture was. Even with the bonus points our score was no where near the winners. However I will always remember that The Taj Mahal is in Agra. The evening entertainment continued with Tomasito Cruz and the Latin Jazz band. We watched many people attempt to dance and chuckled from afar.
