Next step on our journey was to pack, return the car, and check in at the Port. All of which occurred with great ease. The party on the ship began as soon as guests arrived. All bars were open and blending up pina coladas, and the casual dining buffet was serving lunch. Then at 4:30 our ship set sail, out into the wild blue yonder, emphasis on wild.
The wind on land which simply blew our hair around wreaked havoc on our small ship. Now there was no worry about sinking or crashing, but with each large wave our boat lurched forward and then crashed down after it crested. Dinner proved to be beyond my sea legs and I retired to our stateroom. For a long while I listened to the howling wind and creaking ship. Then mother returned. Allison, Robert, and she enjoyed a lovely dinner and intended to participate in the ship scavenger hunt. I'll turn it over to my sister for those details:
We met the Fathom guide Sarah who was pleased someone wanted to participate in the activity. She wasn't sure how it would turn out if no one else showed up. We let her know we were just looking for something to do and didn't need anyone else to complete the activity. She gave us 30 minutes to complete the tasks and asked us to not mess up the inventory in the shops when we got to that clue. Although, she said we seemed like pretty competent people who wouldn't ruin the shops inventory anyway. Off we went, trying to knock off as many clues in one stop as possible. We started with the sun set time and a selfie with the bar staff by the pool. We visited the Glass House, a wine bar, to find out how many different types of wine they served and then off to the library. Luckily for us, we had previously visited the library and knocked out three clues at once: open a book and write down the first line, open a curiosity box and complete the item, & find an item that starts with a Z. From there we scurried along to complete the rest of the tasks and met friendly crew members along the way. William, a bar steward from Mumbai, helped us count chairs in the Anderson lounge and an Irish gentleman in the shops explained what WeWood products were (these are fancy watches with bands made from wood). Thirty minutes flew by and we returned with two minutes to spare. Sarah, the Fathom guide was impressed that we completed everything and with time to spare! She even said we qualified for the prize- Robert now has another t-shirt to add to his collection.
